Applications for participation in the Child Nutrition Programs are excepted year-round from new participants and from previous participants that voluntarily withdrew from the programs.
Applications from districts/charters that previously participated in the Child Nutrition Programs and were terminated are only accepted from April 1 to May 31 of each year. The application and all program requirements must be completed by July 31. On August 1, incomplete applications will become null and void. Reapplication will not be accepted until April 1 of the following year. The following program requirements must be completed prior to approval: repayment of any monies owed to TDA and attendance (by all Child Nutrition personnel) of a mandatory Compliance training in August, at the expense of the district/charter, at the Austin office. Additionally, during the first year of application the district/charter must successfully pass a Coordinated Review Effort (CRE).
